Swift Water Rescue in Catawba County
Catawba County- Two people have been rescued after their canoe flipped over in a swollen Jacob Fork
River. Hildebran News has a video from the rescue scene also in this story.
The call came in at around 2:40 p.m. near the Greedy Highway on Jacob Fork River.
The canoe was carrying three people when in struck a tree and overturned. One person was able to
swim ashore. The others swam to a small island in the middle of the river.
Approximately 20 to 25 personnel assisted in the rescue.
Everyone who was inside the canoe was reported to be okay.
