Bomb Threat Evacuates East Burke High School Icard- A note found in a bathroom that said there was a bomb inside East Burke High School forced the school to be evacuated Thursday. Principal Rexanna Lowman said in a telephone message that a hand written note was found in a boy's bathroom saying that there was a bomb inside the school and could go off at any time. The school was evacuated after the note was found at around 11:30 a.m. Students were moved back into the gym after the school was searched and that is when detectives interviewed students. Police say that they had a suspect a short time later. The News Herald reports that police tracked down the suspect to his grandmother's residence because he had already left the school. The Burke County Sheriff's Office will be seeking a juvenile petition against the student on Friday, according to Sheriff John McDevitt. Juvenile services will be deciding whether the student will be arrested or will have to appear in court to answer the charges.
