Unemployment Rises
Hickory Metro- The unemployment rate in Burke, Catawba, and Caldwell Counties climbed upward in May.
In Burke County, the unemployment rate rose to 14.9% in May. This is up from 14.6% in April.
In Catawba County, the unemployment rate rose to 15.5% in May. This is up from 15.0% in April.
In Caldwell County, the unemployment rate rose to 15.6% in May. This is up from 14.9% in April.
