Connelly Springs- North Carolina State Senator Jim Jacumin has announced that he will not run for the 44th District seat in 2010.

Jacumin (R) reportedly told the Caldwell County Republican Party Chairman that he plans to finish this term called the "short session;" however, Jacumin will not run for a fourth term.

The Lenoir News Topic reports that concerns over his wife's health promoted this decision from Jacumin.
