Hickory- The City of Hickory had two sanitary sewer overflows on Wednesday.

The first spill occurred at the Northeast Waste Water Treatment Plant influent pump station on Cloninger Mill Road. 78,000 gallons were spilled due to the heavy rain. The overflow ran into Falling Creek.

The second spill occurred on 1500 block of 10th Street Place, NW. 34,500 gallons were spilled due to the heavy rain. The overflow ran into Horseford Creek.

The spill had no negative impact on the environment.
