Bandys clinches share of conference title after win at East Burke, Maiden defeats Bunker Hill, and Draughn picks up first varsity football win in school history.

BANDYS 28; EAST BURKE 12

The Bandys Trojans racked up 351 yards total offense as they spoiled senior night at East Burke High School Friday. Bandys Quarterback Kyle Houser threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns. Trenton Millsaps led the Bandys ground game with over 120 yards rushing with two touchdowns. The Trojan defense held East Burke to 235 yards total offense. By the second quarter, the Trojans had built a 21-0 lead. East Burke's Chris Collins found Dustin Wilson for a 33 yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter; however, the point after touchdown was no good. The score at the half was 21-6 Bandys leading. The Cavaliers received the kickoff after halftime capped a seven minute drive with a touchdown. The two point conversion was no good, and the score was 21-12 Bandys. Bandys would strike again in the third quarter for the final score of the game. With the win, the Trojans clinch the No. 1 state playoff berth from the CVAC conference and have secured at least a tie of the CVAC conference title.

DRAUGHN 47; WEST CALDWELL 34

The Draughn Wildcats won their first varsity football game in school history Friday Night against the West Caldwell Warriors. Draughn grasped the lead in the third quarter when Tyler Powell found the end zone from one yard out. The score was 35-34 Draughn leading. Draughn added two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. They came from Camden Young's ten yard touchdown run and Jordan Moore's 19 yard interception return for a touchdown. Moore had two rushing touchdowns and a touchdown reception in the game.

FREEDOM 48; CHASE 6

The Freedom Patriots defeated Chase Friday Night. Freedom Quarterback Mike Helms threw for four touchdowns in the game. This was the second straight win for Freedom. Chase has dropped their last four games.

MAIDEN 21; BUNKER HILL 10

The Maiden Blue Devils defeated the Bunker Hill Bears 21-10. Maiden improved to 5-5 on the season, improving their chances to make the playoffs. Bunker Hill's playoff chances were severely damaged by the loss. This was the 20th straight win for Maiden over Bunker Hill. The Blue Devil's Matt Johnson ran for two touchdowns in the game.
