Today is election day, so let your voice be heard and vote. 7,000 people in Burke County have already let their voices be heard in early voting.

Polls will be opening today at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 p.m.

Burke County voters will be voting for the Board of Education seats.

Residents in Hildebran, Connelly Springs, Drexel, Glen Alpine, Valdese, and Rutherford College will also be voting for town positions.

In the 2007 election, 8,000 ballots were cast for the school board total. Already in early voting in Burke County, 7,000 ballots have been cast.
